Collie Agle

The Pathfinder Group is my business and passion.

I live in Washington with my wife, Betsy. We have two grown sons. In addition to sea kayaking, I like to bike, cross-country ski, backpack, and spend time at an old mountain farm that we own in West Virginia.

An avid naturalist and bird watcher, I have kayaked in alot of places, both domestically and internationally. I am very familiar with the environment and the history of the Chesapeake.

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru in the early 60s, and am working on environmental projects in Honduras.

I am also very interested in raising awareness about the Anacostia River as a troubled but important resource in the Washington area.

I am certified by the American Canoe Association as a sea kayak instructor. I also am wilderness first aid and CPR certified.

When I am not instructing or guiding, I earn a living as a software project manager and trainer. I am also an avid digital photographer, and use my camera to interpret the natural world around me. See my pictures here.

I love to teach and interpret what we see. I adjust the mix of instruction, adventure, physical demand and pace to each group or individual. Safety and enjoyment are always my starting point.
