Things To Take
Here is a list of things to take
when you are doing a day paddle.
Remember that you have to be prepared for being exposed to
water as well as to air.
Hat
Lots of water to keep hydrated
Energy food
Sunscreen
Change of clothes in a dry bag
Tevas or some other appropriate
footwear
Personal flotation device (always
wear it on the water)
Bilge pump
Emergency communications device
(such as a cell phone)
Kayak with flotation
Paddle
Backup paddle
Windbbreaker
Synthetic (rather than cotton) shirt
or top
Be sure to leave a float plan with someone. A float plan indicates where you are going and when you intend to be back.
